Darmil Shelties was started in 1987 when our daughter wanted a 4-H project. After researching many breeds we decided a Sheltie would be a perfect fit. Mattie our first Sheltie never made it to the conformation ring but she was the star of the 4-H, FFA, our daughters golf caddy, and was even cast as "Sandy" in the local High School play. Mattie stole our hearts and got us interested in showing, and soon we were hooked!
Over the past few years we have been active in many dog activities such as 4-H dog project leaders, obedience, agility, conformation as well as serving on the Board of Directors and Co Show Chair at the Badger Kennel Club in Wisconsin. We are current members of the Baltimore Maryland Shetland Sheepdog Club.
We have had the honor of being owned by many top dogs: Ch Acorn Darmil Hanky Panky, MBISS CH Darmil All Dollars No Sense (Award of Merit winner at Westminster breeder owner handled, Eukanuba invitee), and MBISS CH GCH Jade Mist Darmil Stolen Moment (ranked #3 in 2010). In 2002 we were proud to be one of the top breeders in the country.
Our lives would not be complete without the wonderful dogs in our lives. We strive to produce Shelties that make excellent family companions as well as tough competitors in any venue they pursue.
